I was trying to post a thread regarding college degrees being a waste of time and money, and it wouldn't let me. So I will post it here instead. I found the article interesting!
A couple years ago one of our teachers asked me if I had a degree. I told him I didn't. Well, being the arrogant SOB that he is, he said that must be why I'm a secretary!
I then told him that I might not have a degree, but I did serve in the AF for 20 years, and have more experience in how to deal with people than he does, and get two paychecks from the military, in addition to my secretary pay! He has been very cordial ever since!
I'm not discouraging students from going to college and getting their degree, but it depends on what they plan on doing after college. Quite a few students opt to go to the community colleges here instead of universities!
