if you going for ak, try to find bulgarian slr 95, or 101(with single stack mag)with milled reciver, or russian vepr with rpk reciver, 90% of stamped reciver ak,s are real crap. russian saiga is ok gun, not as good as vepr, or slr, but it is cheaper. sks is also a good plinking rifle, i have chinise one, i can,t complain, it never failed, it is accurate enough for up to 200yards,(not extremely accurate, but good enough), very reliable, and chromed barel, makes it almost imune to corrosive rounds(wich most of 7,62x39 are), not to mention i got one in excelent condition, all numbers matching for 250$iirc, and it is almost twice as old as me. still as good as new.
