Honestly, if there is a truly multi-role fighter, its the F-16. If getting a Multi Role Combat Aircraft is really what the IAF wants, go for the Block 60. Hauls everything, shoots everything. With CFTs, they get a decent range out of it as well.
Any sortie there is, the F-16 can do it.

the frame of the f-16 has not been built for supercruising. To add something new for the IAF deal they just forcibly changed the tail to make it supercruise.
A lockheed personnel commented that the control on the plane while supercruising is not satisfactory.
therefore its just an accessory, not the best utility item.
