I would agree that a sizeable portion of the black community still has a kneejerk reaction against whites when something like this happens. I wonder whether Wright's former congregation is with him on what he's doing now. Do they see him as a spoiler?

I agree. He's just looking for his 15 minutes. But doesn't it look just a little bit suspicious? Like Karl Rove is pulling the strings behind the scenes...
lol...well, if we slip into conspriacy mode, anything is possible and it won't be long before the conspiracy crowd has it all figured out. But here's another take. Obama was a lost soul when ex-Marine Wright met him; Obama poured out his feelings, fears, whatever to him. Now Wright is watching this "wimp" rise to the top of the white world, aiming to be the president of the government he teaches is the problem for blacks. But despite being a member of his flock, Obama is not toeing to the message he teaches. Perhaps that is a disappointment and he is striking back.

Another possibility is that Wright wants to make himself seem as outrageous as possible inviting Obama to take more shots at him. In that way, people will be more convinced that Obama doesn't agree with Wright. So, in one senario, Wright is slapping Obama down as a straying member of the flock and in the other he creating a greater distance between them.
