I'd have to say Russia poses a big conventional threat to China, and will continue to do so in the future.
However it appears very unlikely the two countries will go into conflict.

Russia poses no threat to China at all , its wrong to even think such a thing.
The Russians would never in their lifetime wan't to have war with China , why?? They lost over 10 million men in WW2 they do NOT want a major war they never did , one of the reasons of the cold war the US thought the USSR will steamroll over europe and the Russians thought USA will attack them but they were never prepared to attack Europe they did not have the stomach for another major war and millions of casualties , and thats only 1 out of at least 10 if not more reasons why Russia does not pose any threat to China.Im to lazy to point out all the reasons like what would they even get from having a war from China etc.
