Yes. It is undeniable how similar hinduism and Islam can be ( infact how similar all religions are)

The verse quoted here is not a part of the Quraan, but what is more commonly termed basic beliefs. It is known as the 1st Kaalimah and is what a person should accept if he is to become a muslim.
However the verse actually goes,
"La ilahah ill Allah Muhammed dur rasoul llallah",

Which should be translated as, " There is no other God but THE God (meaning only one God), and Mohammed is the last of the messengers."

In theory (Haadith) Islam accepts 124 000 or so prophets that came to "The Tribes"( as it says) of mankind.

So it is not the belief that Muhammed is the only prophet.

But the fundamental difference between Hinduism and Islam is the belief that there will be no more prophets after Mohammed.

I think that other than that, the religions are remarkably similar.

An additional belief is that even though Muhammed is the last prophet, Jesus will come at a time of need for mankind in the future. The belief is that Jesus was taken up by God physically and spiritually ( he usually takes up people only spiritually) and when God places him back on Earth, it will be well past the time of Mohammed.

So thats kind of a paradox. Mohammed is the last messenger, but Jesus is to complete his message after the message of Mohammed.

oh! BTW, Mostlymad :

You guys seem to have put your religions on the chopping block, wheras I have not (until now) so my apologies on that.
Any way here goes: ( and in my favourite shaving cream colour too )

I generally agree with the religion, but the point that can come up for debate is the one on inheritance.

No there are intricate rules in the Quraan about who gets what when the old guys croak, but in some instances it is told in the Quraan that the Male should get twice the inheritance as the Female.
(i'll find the location of the verse if you want.)

Now remember I told you Guys that in Islam, Males and Females have different advantages and disadvantages, putting them on an equal footing.
Well the advantage here argued for the Female is the Dower. On Mariage Females must get a dower (males don't, even if the female approaches for marriage) followed by a portion of the males earnings( at regular intervals which she may remit but the male must still offer at regular intervals) irrespective of whether she earns or not.

Its supposed to equalize things but I don't think it does, as the male can give any sum as the dower for example and if the old guys (who croaked) were tycoons, the male stands and advantage over the Female in that instance......

BTW, Thanx for that stuff on native American religion and Christianity.
