Agree... The political stance taken by pakistani and Indian governments is due to populist reasons. Can u imagine what will happen if today Indian govt or pakistani govt says that we are freinds from today? Friendship isnt built in a day or too... Its a process... Moreover, fighting amongst each other is an economic disincentive for both India and pakistan. We spend so much money on defense, which can easily provide health care and education for so many people. Since India is in a higher moral plane, than others .. as u said.. it should take the initiative. But with any friendship, it has to be mutually respecting. Intercultural exchnage is very important as a first step.
