Hillier was much to popular amongst a Canadian public that is almost retarded with respect to the Canadian forces and it's remarkable war history. The myth of the Blue hats and Canada's tiny contribution to the U.N. that in reality never exceeded more than a couple of Battalions(a Brigade group in the Korean war I believe)as compared to 5 Divisions and a couple of Brigades in Western Europe at the end of the Second World War. Hillier brought all that forgotten Military achievement back to our conscience if only fractionally and at specific time's,like Remembrance day. All this truth and glory and war mongering is to much for modern Canada and I am positive the Canadian Government will find some lackey yes man to dismantle a once again proud and (perhaps to small) an effective Military. It goes hand in hand with the revisionist history taught in Canadian high schools today.
