I've read quite the same thing.
I fear some losses. The eastern sectors may be less dangerous than the Canadian sector, but it doesn't look very quiet you're right. French reinforcements will have to fight.
About the unit deployed, it will be good-trained troops, but maybe not paratroopers. It could be a "Chasseurs Alpins" unit (the french mountain infantry).
