Yeah. I used to call it "the Alberta clipper". Anywhere from mid-december until mid-late February. Once to three times a year. 3 days to two weeks. Bright high pressure and stupid-cold. Wind would frost-bite your face in fifteen minutes if left uncovered.
Some years it was amazing. A lake would freeze overnight and three days later totally safe anywhere. Snowmobile around the lakes at 80mph and hit the bars along the shore. Great crazy fun
