You'd be surprised - Whether or not he had plainclothes security or not I couldn't say (the Luas was about half full, so it's fully plausible), but there was absolutely no problem going over and talking to him, a rarity in itself I'd imagine.
He's actually a really nice guy, resigned a few days ago over a banking scandal, I'm sad to see him go
