Well Folks - I think after reading this we will all start making our own carrot sticks out of fresh carrots and keep them in the fridge in water (a few at a time).

Organic produce is the way to go. I've got a stalk of celery in the fridge that after a week is still as firm as crisp as the day purchased.

Things that HAVE to be peeled and cut NOT things that ARE already peeled and cut are always a better choice. But you know what - grow yer own. Even if all one can do is put some dirt in a pot, it's better than getting it from a store.
