Islam is a little more prone to violent interpretation...infidels and such figuring so prominently, but misinterpretations of scriptures are usually due to failure to understand the spiritual meaning in them.

That's a good point, but I think if the occasion demanded most religious scriptures could be adapted to justify aggression.
