This is very premature. But I would like to tell everyone on WAB, that I am patiently..well perhaps not really patiently..waiting on a response from the University of Alberta on whether or not I was accepted into the Paleontology program. I first applied way back in early December, and the cut off dates for applications for the September 2008 semester was March 1st.
I really should have waited until I get accepted, to save the embarrassment should I not get accepted. But I am so excited/curious/anxious that I could not wait..
I also applied to Memorial University of Newfoundland for Biology. So that I could further my studies in Aquaculture, the same field that I studied at Sir Sanford Fleming School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences in Lindsay, Ontario.
I am pretty sure that I can get into the Biology program at MUN. However the Paleontology program at UoA is a specialized BoS..so the competition will be much higher...but I would prefer to become a paleontologist, than work in the Aquaculture Industry...
I really do enjoy Aquaculture, however the romance surrounding the study of ancient life just trumps my love for fish.
My plan if accepted into UoA, is to get my Bachelors, than apply to University College of London for my Masters in Paleontology. Why London? Well, one of my favorite Dinosaurs since a kid, Baryonyx, was discovered in Britain. Plus the Masters Programs are only one year in Europe, compared to two years in NA.
That and the pubs, accents, Big Ben, RAF, and the fish and chips
