Once upon a time, In a far away land, a FDC forgot to notify the "Hot" gun that the range had secured and they could turn in. Instead they got off the hooks and crawled into their bags at 0001 with narry a sound.
A certain young Corporal section chief (who shall remain nameless) on the "Hot" gun decided to tour the btry position around 0200. He runs into the Btry Gy (They never sleep) who wants to know why the Corporal is still up since 'We've been cold 2 hrs". Gunny hears story, gets mad at FDC, gonna go rip some. Young Cpl (ever the saint
) Tells Gunny "No big deal. Let it slide, Me and the FDC chief will work it out. No need for you to get involved."
Then the Corporal goes to the FDC , whos' firewatch is either asleep or they don't have one, dumps the water from their "Ready to be brewed in the morning" coffee perculator and replaces that good potable water with local stream water.
Lets just say "Things moved pretty fast in the FDC for a few days."
