Yes, quite obviously the Iowa needs some help in the ECM department; it probably would've been nice to a have an Aegis cruiser in the vicinity, but there is no reason to think that a modern Aegis-type AA system couldn't be installed in something as large as an Iowa-class BB.
However, all this hypothetical theorizing is really quite pointless, as all of the Iowa-class BB's have been (prematurely) retired (again). I doubt we shall ever see their like again . . . .
