Chavez's only economic weapon is his oil reserves and to stop exporting them to the US would cripple the house of cards that is Chavezian Venezuela. Petrodollars are the only thing that let him finance his fell good "Bolivarian" programs that gloss over the real issues facing the region. Once those dollars dry I suspect the Venezuelans will lose interest in this buffoon, however I suspect the Far Left will continue fawn over him like they do his buddy Fidel, both of whom are completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of geopolitics.
