Sadly Afghanistan seems to be heading towards the same end as Vietnam.
The US public seems to be getting more and more fed up with these conflicts and want their soldiers back home alive.
So whoever becomes president will probably comply and reduce troop numbers. Taliban will find themselves under less pressure, suicide bombings will go up, even more pressure to withdraw and in the end all troops going home.
