The twin rudders, slender tail, wing struts and small lower wings (barely visible in the first photo - but there anyway) certainly says you picked the right plane. But pressed into rescue service with the red crosses.
Oh. Wait. That's a black and white photo, so those may be green crosses. If so then it was pressed into surrender negotiations. But it does have hackenkreuzes on the rudders also.
