From what I heard, the Syrian site was not a reactor under construction. Possibly a site storing a weapon or a component for a weapon instead. All in all, it was a complicated mess than included the Iranians and North Koreans as well. Everything went hush hush after that.
Yes, Israel will strike. And they definitely have the ability to do so. Until weapons such as those S-300s are introduced to the region, they are unlikely to be able to deter such a strike. It will be interesting to see what the Russians will equip Iran with though.
