It may be of interest to know that Lt Gen Jacob (a Jew) from Calcutta [which had quite a sizeable Jewish population) was the Chief of Staff of Eastern Command which liberated Bangladesh in 1971. He is now the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. He held many Governorship of Indian States.

Lt Gen Jacob is a bachelor and a collector of artifacts and gems apart from other hobbies.
