No matter how much facts the Turks provide, these facts will always be rejected by the Western World. After all, their foreign policy requires the rejection of such facts.
One could argue that the French committed genocide in Algeria. One could also argue that Israel is committing genocide in Palestine. Some might argue that genocide is being perpetrated as we speak in Iraq. Yet no one cares about the aforementioned, because the Western World never does “wrong”. It is always the “barbarian” Muslims in the Middle East! The barbarian “Muslims”, whose petroleum happens to fuel your “modern” and so-called “civilised” lives.
To my Turkish friends…don’t waste your time posting facts. They will fall on deaf ears! People are blinded by all the propaganda and pictures. Pictures which show human suffering, but not the actual victims. Let them “legislate” history according to their foreign policy needs. Let them run the show. Remember every empire has it starting point and ending point in history. It is the irony of life. No one cares about the actual prevention of human suffering. They all play the blaming game in a bid to extract the best advantage.
Let them claim that the Turks committed genocide against the Armenians. Let them claim what ever they want. The more they claim the more isolated the land locked Armenia will be. If they were truly concerned about human civilisation they would spend time on legislating laws for the prevention of such mishaps from occurring, rather than point the finger at others. Where was the League of Nations (todays United Nations) when the aforementioned events were occurring? Why didn’t the major powers of the world (who today is legislating history), intervene to prevent such events from occurring, if they were truly concerned about human suffering? Why are they not acting now in Darfur, Sudan or Irak? It seems that legislating about events which occurred 100 years ago, by a state which is today non-existent state is more beneficial to humanity, according to some egoistic hypocrites.
Belief what you want to believe, but remember all your allegations will fall on deaf ears too!
Oh also, It was the Ottoman Turks who saved the Sephardic Jewish population in Spain from the Spanish Inquisition not the US, British or French!
