Come on over to Canada! I know many many Germans who have settled hear in the Ottawa Valley. Especially in the more remote rural areas.. It seems that a lot of Europeans really like the more isolated areas..probably because back home there are not to many isolated areas left..

One summer I worked as a laborer for a German bricklayer named Uudo (not sure on the spelling) he came to the area 27 years ago. We worked at a newly immigrated German businessman property. who owned a massive outdoor clothing company in Germany, then sold it to move to Canada with his wife. He bought 2000 acres of bush up near Ompah. He was building a resort lodge for Germans to come and hunt bears and wolves. Another younger German who had just got his masonry papers, then immigrated to the area with his family to work with us also! I was the only english speaking person working on the site!

Lots of Germans up my way..and they are all fantastic people.
