I believe the point is still being debated in the USN at this point. However I have read articles as far back as 2001 where women could/would possible serve aboard Canadian subs.

FYI One of the USN's newest guided missle destroyers (name left out) CO's just happens to be a woman and a very repectable one at that. Also the SWO is also of the female gender.
