I came to the conclusion at a very early age that regardless of the consequences, I would only bend just so far.
I realize that Chamberlain had millions of lives at stake not just his own, but surely he saw what kind of men that the leaders of National Socialism were?

Importantly he bought Britain some extra time to re-arm, as the forces were still in a run-down condition. He also was able to express his abhorrance at what was going on to the world at large. I again pose the question, in his shoes and at that time what would you have done?
