The thing with the Falklands is, if someone was going to start something (im looking at you Argentina) then one fleet ship is just going to be the main target. It would have to stay close to the Falkland to benefit from its air support, which would really limit its use.
If there was an attack/invasion, what honestly is one ship (even a top of the line fleet ship) going to do. It would be a liability more than a help imo given the scale of forces needed to attack the islands these days.
