Well actually, as far as I know, the Soviet doctrine was not something which India adopted, even if it did go for Soviet weapons. The air force has always had a heavy mix of French and British aircraft along with the Russian. I think the Indian procedures are probably homegrown, spun out of the original inherited British procedures. I do not even think that Indian and Russian forces have even conducted any major joint training excercises.
