Reported by the People’s Daily. On its website, it reports that PLAAF will send total 46 air planes include FB-7 fighter Bombers and J-10 Fighters (exact number unknown). Website’s editor also states that the early report about China sending the FC-1 fighter is incorrect. If the current report is right, then it means that the China’s naval aviation is also involved in this exercise. The report also sited a Russian General that according to him that the Chinese air planes will be landed in a Russian airport somewhere, get refueled then fly to the exercise site. I think this means that PLAAF and the naval aviation will not conduct any mid-air refueling, even thou both airplanes are capable of such operation. On the same website, the People’s daily also reports that one army aviation regiment from Beijing Military District will also be sent. This regiment is obviously the one that belongs to the 38th Corp.
This is all the information I got from the Chinese source. And sometime, they do have reliability issues. That’s why I would like see if we could gather some information from all the available sources that will enable us to have a complete understanding on this event.
