I know the raptor has super cruise and great stealth and that the JSF have VTO but aside from im not sure which aircraft is best.
Another waste of bandwidth.

Let's hope the thread either gets locked or hijacked into something useful.

I'll try to hijack it. But, I certainly have no objection if the mods lock it. The F-35 has different missions from the F-22. All are important, but no one plane can perform them all. Indeed, the F-35 is really three different aircraft.

F-35A - A replacement for the F-16 as a land based light attack aircraft. May also replace the A-10, though I have doubts about its effectiveness in that roll.

F-35B - A replacement for USMC, RN and RAF Harriers. The only version with STOVL capability.

F-35C - Something new for the USN, a stealthy medium attack type. The C is not really a replacement for anything in the USN arsenal but an augmentation to our capabilities. To be fair, had the A-12 succeeded, the C would be viewed as its replacement. The C is the only CTOL carrier capable version.
