I tend to agree that among the Democrats, Bill Richardson has the most foreign policy experience. Further, he has the most Washington experience and a good deal of executive leadership as Governor of New Mexico. The ARG poll puts Richardson at 8% in Iowa, well behind Undecided's 14%, Edwards' 25% and Clinton's 31% in a May 29 poll. A June 6 Mason Dixon poll of New Hampshire likely voters put Richardson at 9%, well behind Edwards at 18%, Obama at 21% and Clinton at 26%. Of course, in politics a week is a lifetime.
One thing that none of the candidates has said, yet, is that Iran's nuclear ambitions can certainly be played for our benefit. Just keep reminding the gulf states, Saudis, Israelis and Egyptians about a nuclear armed unstable Iran will scare the bejeebers out them. For that matter, a nuclear armed and unstable Iran scares the bejeebers out of the Euros too.
