This Kind of War by T.R. Fehrenbach has got some fairly interesting stuff on the Turks in Korea in it.
This includes a statement that one of the reasons for so much favourable press coverage of the Turks was that they had taken very heavy losses in the initial Chinese attack and the UN command (completely misunderstanding Turkish attitudes) was worried this would affect their attitude to the war.
The other interesting bit was their behaviour as PoWs. The Turks were the only national contingent not to collaborate in any way with the Chinese, and were also the only ones to maintain discipline throughout - which led to them suffering far fewer losses while PoWs than any other nation.
