The NYPD used to be looked upon as the best and greatest law enforcement agency in the world and now they are a total joke and the laughing stock of the world now that they have lowered their standards to the point where the only difference between an NYPD officer and the people they arrest is that one of them has a badge.
I'm going to add that line to my collection. Brilliantly said.

One question - Brigadier Ray mentioned low-caste minorities in Asia and wkllaw then added this -

Is there anything in the argument that people who have low status and a bad historical image in a society have to be taken out of that society to succeed? Basically, are some of those same low caste types in one society doomed to failure and low status unless they move to another country?
I remember when I studied A-Levels in high school listening to a lecture from a reknowned Doctor who had come from a low society position in his own country but had flourished and done well in England.

That's a bit hard, don't the one's brought up in the new society simply learn that society's rules and live by the same rules and aspirations as the rest of the country? It's correct the 1st generation work harder, that's because they usually have to struggle and work to the standards and hours they might have done back home. Thier kids simply learn about worker's rights or union protection don't they?
