Namely, the size of the operation. Both the USArmy and the Soviet Army simply overwhelm the opposition. Too many things happening at too many places, all at the same time. There was an airborne assault followed by a mechanized assault.
What Druze has proposed here is nowhere near that scope and 35 C130s might be able to bring in one motor battle group but it would not be anywhere near enough to withstand an Iranian brigade that is a day or two away.
