It has just been announced that the Government will decide today whether Ghurkhas who have served a pensionable career with the Army will receive a pension equitable to that of a British soldier. I personally think it is not before time as these guys do the same job as his Brit counterpart and although I believe they only serve a term of 12 years (I may be slightly out on this one) there is no reason why they should not receive pension recognition for the role they have played in the country's defence. A military pension is still not enough to survive on but it would go a long way to helping them settle in this country following completion of their service.
