You're right about Taiwan. I think this ultimatum is good enough reson for a massive arms sale to Taiwan. With our own ultimatum: "Don't make us wash your mouth out with soap".

American is going to sell massive advanced missiles and much much more super advanced weaponries to Taiwan. F-22s are already come to Japan. India is planning huge purchase of advanced jet fighters. All these weaponries are gun pointing at China. China didn’t even have the very basic self-defense ability under today’s situation. As a Chinese general put it several years ago, the difference between Chinese defense ability and that of the developed countries has increased to such a degree that it is close to the “Opium War” situation.
That is way just some emotional words from a Chinese diplomat during an informal interview for a BBC radio program could bring in such harsh reactions and threatening. We are so scared to even open our mouth to say something that others may feel uncomfortable and wash our mouth out with their “bully brand soap”. After the wash, I think that we have to thank them for their free soap. It is OK to use their free soap once a while, but we will feel guilty to use their free soap forever.
We don’t want to threaten anyone. We don’t shout to others that “you are spending too much on defense”. We want to coexist with others peacefully. We want to integrate ourselves into international community to fight terrorists. But we also need something better than stones and sticks to defend ourselves from being constantly threatened by the big brothers in the community.
