to be fair to the writer, he did not say "tibet wasn't ours", he said "tibet wasn't ALWAYS ours".

i do agree that the man was brave and correct in saying that, however. his point isn't really disputed by other historians around the world.

however, having said that, tibet has had closer historical and political relations with china, both as an independent entity and as a part of china, than, say, hawaii, or even california, with the americans.

but we don't hear too many complaints about THAT, simply because the US did much of what china has done- from intimidation of the natives to bringing in settlers to outnumber the original population- in the mid-late nineteenth century instead of the mid-twentieth century.
