I personally found Atkinson's In the Company of Soldiers rather lacking. He constantly injects snide statements attacking Bush and US policy, while trying to pass his book off as impartial reporting. Also, he calls "In the Company of Soldiers" but he seldom ever mentions anyone lower than the rank of major in the book. Basically he lets his arrogance seep into the narrative repeatedly, a trait I've found his other books seem to share.
