I wouldn't mind women in the military if they could actually perform to mens standards, which the vast majority cannot.

I once had the misfortune of instructing some females on the range one day and was appalled that out of the entire group not a single one could properly mount and fire the M-14 from an off-hand position, even after proper instruction.

On the other hand, i am friendly with a Thai Colonel who returned recently from operations in Iraq, and she took particular note of the fact that Iraqi men were terrified of women manning heavy weapons because they viewed it as highly dishonorable to be killed by a woman.

If all female soldiers were like the Good Colonel, i would have no objections whatsoever to women in the military, but they are not.
