Jokes apart, educational qualifications are no measure for success in life : Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson. Closer home : Dhirubhai Ambani, Karsenbhai Patel and so on. I am not sayiong they are uneducated, but they have done a whole lot better than those with fancy degrees.
Some of the best run organisations I have had the opportunity to see - Amul, SMGU (Shri mahila gram Udyog Coop ), the mumbai dabbawallahs - are run by uneducated illiterate folks who would have a thing to two to show most corporates with tonnes of MBAs/CAs/Engineers about supply chain, lean manufacturing and JIT.
So lets not knock the uneducated yet.
Anyway, I love this whole quota/reservation debate AND playing the devils advocate in it simply because most people who argue against reservations tend to stand on such shaky grounds.
Personally to me the entire thing seems to be about a mediocre system with a bunch of even more mediocre people moaning over what 'seats' are 'allocated' to thier own tribe. And I used to think that the license raj was over.
