Did I ever say I was worried if they do? I just wrote this big post about how it wouldn't grant them control of the region, they'd need to do a lot more than build a couple of mid-sized carriers to manage that.
And no, they're not threatening us, Australia has worked hard to set ourselves up as a middle-man between the United States and the People's Republic, to the point that we've stated we wouldn't be helping the United States in a war over Taiwan because it would violate our newfound neutrality.
However, my point was to adress this talk of the PLA's expansion as a prelude to Chinese agression against the region, such as the thread on this sub forum detailing thoughts that they would try to push the straits and the Spratleys etc. Simply put, they're way off being able to do anything like that, they're still not ready to invade Taiwan (something I can see them doing one day in particular circumstances), and they know it. And I don't think the CCP really has an issue with Japan, they just use Japanese atrocities during world war two as a means of manipulating the Nationalists into venting their anger on Japanese businesses rather than on their government and Security Forces.
