the Darpa 13" sabot shell had a range of 70 miles, the 11" sabot had a range of 90 miles(Nautical for both).
The shells were developed, prototyped, tested at sea, and were awaiting production when the BBs were put back into reserve in 1991.
There was also an Aegis system designed for the USS Iowa, but it was never installed, again, because the BBs were placed into reserve. The Aegis unit is sitting in a warehouse in NJ. Presumably, it could still be installed should the US ever feel the need.
Each battleship has a compliment of 6 UAVs for remote targeting. They were used in ODS, and have been a standard feature of the Iowas since their reactivation in the 1980s.
