It appears to me Israel is using different tactics this time, having learned lessons from the past. So far during the current conflict Israel is conducting a seige campaign, cutting off the airport, roads, and the sea from resupplying Lebanon and hitting hard at its enemy where ever it can. Eventually the Lebanese will starve. The same seige appears to be happening in the Gaza Strip.
Of course, this seige campaign will take time to fulfill. All Israel has to do is keep hitting the bridges and the airport and maintain the sea embargo for as long as it takes. When the food runs out, we'll see who wins.
As General MacArthur said during the Papuan campaign during World War II, starvation is my ally.
