You know there's a scale here. Israel is what 6 million, France is 20-30 million? At least the population of Canada.
Troung, your'e wrong, Israel has a blue water capable navy, but doesn't have to project globally on a regular basis. Pound for pound, its just as effective as the French Navy, at much less cost. The Exocet is offset by both the Harpoon and Gabriel so its a wash.
Here's the big difference, commitment of National Will, the Israelis will be unambiguous if necessary. I don't know that France could do that anymore. With the exception of the Foreign Legion, I don't think they can field a truly competent unit.
As to your 14 year old comment, its entirely gratuitous. I came here from the Pakistan forum to lose that kind of stupidity. Stow it.
By the by, the Mirage 5 was paid for primarily by the Israelis and Dassault together. The Froggies reneged on their committment to sell us the plane, hence the Nesher and Kfir. Let me see. THe US's first jet used a licensed production model of the Whittle ramjet from England. After that we largely copied German designs. Why do you condemn the Israelis for not being completely original?
