They were totally unprepared and completely unprofessional. Given how the Iraqi RG was based upon a strong cmdr, his presence was sorely lacking when he took off on his sight seeing tour. He had a completely effective force at his disposal when his divisions got hit and then left his HQ which in fact was the only force directly under his control and left it without TAC intent.
When he came back, his HQ and his only effective res was gone. He should have stayed at his HQ and sent runners instead. Without him at the helm, things fell apart faster. He might not have won but it's at least what I would expected of him to make effective use of what he had.
