Well, why reward them?
I agree that they democratically elected their leadership. And now it's up to their leaders to provide for the people. If those leaders choose to be enemies of the west, that's something the Palestinians have to take into consideration when electing them.
Cutting off aid to terrorists is the prerogative of any country or group who is providing that aid in the first place. This is a one-way flow of money- we are not obligated to provide for them, we do it out of humanitarian concerns. If they choose terrorists to lead them, so be it. They will just have to figure out some other way to get their bread and circuses.
Most of us in the US have not forgotten the images of Palestinians dancing in the streets on 9/11.
