This general says that the Iraqi army were remissed on all levels and he asks for forgivenesss. How the **** he get to the general rank? I am not surprised by the lack of aptitude by the general.
There was no signs of preparation and readiness to blow the bridges up. No dug in efforts. No contigency plans.
He's just trying to save the embarassment that the operational and logistics planning by the general staff is a joke.
