A political solution for the Republicans

Rumor holds this day that John McCain is searching for a running mate.
Well today on aol it was voiced that Condoleezza Rice may be interested.

If this is true...Stated on aol.

"Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is gunning to be John McCain's running mate on the Republican ticket, according to some political pundits and bloggers. Over the weekend, McCain called Rice "a great American," but said he was not aware of her reported interest in the job".

This would bring about

A) John McCain as U.S. President
B) Condoleezza Rice as VP. (Being both a woman and an African American)

Could spell BIG trouble for Hilliary and Obamba if McCain agrees to it.

That would be an unsinkable ticket....like the Titanic

Remember those Aluminum tubes? Condi won't run. Let alone her abysmal performance as head of th NSA in 2001 she has the Iraqi skeletons in her closet. So much energy focused on our Missile shield and deal making with Russia(her expertise) so little spent on Terror. Do you remember the push they were making for that missile shield pre 911? it was the numero uno priority.

And the missile shield is on the verge of being deployed. Some of our cruisers and destroyers are already online with anti ballistic missile system. Our missile interceptors are about to be deployed to Eastern Europe.

We can do 2 things at the same time.

Too Republican for 99% of democrats and too black for many mid-west Republicans. Not the best candidate for a presidential run but not too bad for a VP.

How about that David Duke and that Bob Jones university or that Catholic hating Rev haggard they all kneel before? They need to actually act like they renounce racism not just give it some political sound bites. Do you think it's a coincidence the republican party has so few minorities?

Republicans and conservatives don't pander, and don't care about ethnicity - only Dems and liberals do that sort of thing.

First off Osama Bin laden is free. He killed 4000 Americans in NY not Saddam and not Sadr. We don't have the forces to bolster Afghanistan because we created a second front in our War by invading Iraq. How long must we fight in iraq? Al queda isn't the issue there. The Shiites would wipe um out the second we left along with half the Sunnis. How many more tours of duty for our troops? 25% of them are coming home with ptsd. I want a draft. I think unlike McCain most in power would be working for non military solutions to achieve success if it was their kids getting shot at to get Saddams WMD, no wait to create a free democratic iraq, no wait to stop the Iraqis from having a civil war so they ummm can stubbornly refuse to compromise????. WOW, Iraq was a bad move in a strategic sense. We are going to end up with no gains in a geopolitical sense. At best it will be a friend of Iran at worst a puppet state. Do you really care how many Shiites Saddam killed?. he had nothing to do with 911 and was giving Al Queda no material support which is more than our allies the Saudis can say. I'd far prefer a secular dictator with his boot on religous extremism than a puppet state of Iran.

That missile shield cost billions and well

The real danger here is if it's deployed and we get a sense of security and act like we are safe from attack because if it works 50% of the time. Do you remember the Dilbert cartoon from the 90s? it was one of the first. It had Dilbert buying a Missile defense system plan for 99 cents off the back of a cereal box that was guaranteed to be as effective as our 2 billion dollar one. It was an aluminum foil hat. The real test will be when it has to hot something and it doesn't know where or when it's coming. If you can show me that it's passed that test I will happily post I'm wrong.

Oh so you think you should be seeking the endorsements of people and institutions that propagate those things? how is that not pandering.

I should have been more clear - Repubs and conservatives don't pander to race, in general. We tend to care more about ideas than appearance. Hence Condaleeza won't get the nod soon because she hasn't performed exceptionally at State. Doesn't matter that she's a black woman and that would help the ticket, just like it doesn't matter that Justice Thomas is a black man and he's well-loved and -respected by conservatives.

Now, as to what McCain will do, hard to say, as he is a rather poor Republican and conservative. He may push the pander button there.

Very interesting this is the first I have heard of this. I think though considering Condi's record it would be a poor choice unless like Delem said he pushes the pander button.
