Obama-Bloomberg Ticket?

27 Mar 2008 09:44 am

Here's the first paragraph from Barack Obama's speech this a.m. in New York:

Quote:
I want to thank Mayor Bloomberg for his extraordinary leadership. At a time when Washington is divided in old ideological battles, he shows us what can be achieved when we bring people together to seek pragmatic solutions. Not only has he been a remarkable leader for New York –he has established himself as a major voice in our national debate on issues like renewing our economy, educating our children, and seeking energy independence. Mr. Mayor, I share your determination to bring this country together to finally make progress for the American people.
Marc Ambinder thinks Bloomberg's qualities as an administrator compliments Obama's as a visionary. But Obama's campaign proves Obama is a qualified administrator. What appeals to me about Bloomberg is that while he doesn't seem to give a **** about party politics. I also like the prospect of putting a mayor at the top national office, to go along with a state senator 4 years removed

Bloomberg? As a mayor he sucks. Raising property taxes, taking the right to choose away from business owners, letting the MTA raise fares, even though there was a surplus, rising toll costs, wanting to enact congestion pricing, so people will have to pay extra to visit their own city, wasted money in total boiler replacement in schools, resulting in substantial increases in associated costs (money could have been utilized where it was needed). Hillary also sat back and watched all this happen and didn't oppose not a thing. She is no better.

do you realize how safe New York is right now. The MTA went up $5 per month, big deal! Life in New York is great, if only the rest of the country can live like us.

Ahem...do you remember a guy by the name of Rudy Giuliani? I thought he had a little something to do with cleaning up New York.
