Romney wins Wyoming
With the results in, Mitt Romney has won 8 of 12 delegates. Wyoming had pushed its primary up to get more national attention, but the last candidate to visit Wyoming was Duncan Hunter on December 4th.
Thompson won three delegates, Hunter one.

Romney has fallen quite short in his popularity. He is personable, smart, and a Governor (which is a plus), and an able business man with solid programs. I still think he still drags behind Nationally because of his Mormon religion. He has won Michigan barely, (his home state) but the only other victories are Nevada and Wyoming, both states with significant Mormon population.
While I think that Romney could win the nomination with his resources, and I could see him as Presidential, I don't think he is electible in the general election. I admire McCain, but not so much his politics. McCain/Feingold was a horrible attack on the First amendment. If political speech isn't protected, how badly has the First Amendment been damaged. On the other hand, I want a politician that can win the General election, and believe I can stomach McCain's two worst bills, McCain Feingold and Immigration Reform. Although McCain Feingold was affirmed by the Supreme Court 5-4 in a straight party vote, it was significantly watered down after that with the addition of Chief Justice Roberts and Alito. Hopefully they will find a case to throw it out all together. McCain has also said that he would not push for a new Immigration Bill until the border is secure first, and says that he now "gets it." The border is my first concern for an orderly immigration and visa progam. McCain was right on the war and especially on the surge and we need someone whose strong on defense. Thus despite my other misgivings, I am probably throwing my support to him with Security playing a major factor. I just hope he follows through on the tax cuts he has been voicing, I already agree with him on the spending cuts. Get rid of the earmarks. Last edited by holmesauthor : 01-21-2008 at 04:50 AM.
