Delegates

I think it is a good idea to tally delegates through these primaries, so here we go:

It takes 2,025 delegates to secure the Democratic Nomination.

Iowa:

Obama - 16
Clinton - 15
Edwards - 14

There are 796 Superdelegates of which all have not yet been committed:

Obama - 59
Clinton - 160
Edwards - 32

Next stop: New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

At stake: 12 GOP delegates; 22 Democratic delegates.

Thank you for this important intelligence. I have historially tracked delegates on a white board when I'm at home during primary processes. It is most fun when inter-party parity is lacking, i.e. WY et al, vis-a-vis the primary dates.

You're very welcome, and I am just going to combine superdelegates, to simplify, so here is an update:

Democrats need 2,025 delegates to win the nomination:

Clinton - 183
Obama - 78
John Edwards - 52

Republicans need 1,191 to win the nomination, and so far:

Romney - 30
Huckabee - 21
McCain - 10
Thompson - 6
Ron Paul - 2
Rudy Giuliani - 1

I find this most confusing. Some people have a decreasing total of points. If the votes have been cast I thought they would only increase, as surely the voters can't belatedly change their minds and take back points and award them to another?

I noticed that as well, and I TRIPLE checked 3 different sites, and the figures were the same so I posted them. The sites I have been using is RealClearPolitics, CBS, and ABC. The figures are the same. Maybe someone could explain that for us.

Do you have a web site where Dem delegates are shown as you posted above? Thank you.

It could simply be the difference between projections and actual results. All I see are Edwards "losing" two and Thompson "losing" one delegate.
